Time to SKI!!!!

***Disclaimer-this activity took place back in February but I suck and never updated my blog so I apologize that a few enteries will be out of order***

I had never been skiing before so I was really excited to try it out.  I was a little worried though because I'm not exactly in the best shape ever so I figured this might be more work then fun.  However, I was going to make the best of it and do my personal best!!

After we got all registered and our lift ticket purchased we went to get our equipment.  Now I was starting to feel like a real skier!!

Once we were all geared up we went off to get ready for our lesson which came with our lift ticket.

Group photo just in case we aren't all smiling after we hit the slopes!!!  Oh, please notice the blue ski in the background and all the sun that was shining!!
Alyssa (the experienced skier) decided to do a few runs down the bunny hill before we got started.
When she got back I asked if she thought I could do it too??  She said 'of course."  Boy was she wrong.  I barely went up the hill maybe six feet and when I tried to turn my feet to go down the hill I fell immediately and couldn't get back up.  Oh, crap what did I just get myself into???

After several attempts of pulling, turning, and lifting (thanks for trying Courtney and Alyssa) I decided to just take off my ski and get my big ass up off the ground.  Yeah, this was a perfect start to my attempt at skiing.

Now it was time for the lesson.   Don't we look excited??  : )
For identification purposes Alyssa is in the ASU hat.  I'm in the black and white striped hat and Courtney/Kenny is in the black and white coat with the hood so you can't see her face!

First lesson....the pizza slice. You do the pizza slice when you need to slow down or stop.  Very important to know when you are flying down a hill!!
There is Courtney!!  Great job!!

Perfect Alyssa!!  Way to pizza slice!!

My turn!!  Look I did it!!!  : )

After a few little lessons on the lower end of the bunny hill it was time to go to the top......
Also, this lift thing was very tricky and dangerous at times.  You have to move quickly and be steady when it comes time to get off otherwise you fall......which is exactly what happend to all three of us at one point.  Damn you ski lift!!!

Once we all got to the top it was time to come down.  Dear Lord don't let me fall and wipe out some kid!!!
After no major wipe outs we kept going back up and down until things got more comfotable for everyone.  I was actually surprise how easy it got after a few times but that doesn't mean I didn't fall quite a bit.  Needless to say I became an expert at popping off my own ski to get myself up.  : )

I did have one bad fall where I messed up my knee when I fell.  It wasn't anything major but it hurt pretty bad.  However, I sucked it up and kept skiing!!

As the day progressed the weather began to change dramatically.  Remember that sunshine we saw earlier???  Where did it go???

After the lesson was over we took a little break to warm up and eat a little something. Thanks goodness!!

Courtney looking excited to take a break!!

Once we were all rested we decided to get back out there and hit the slopes a few more times.  Now, while we were eating it started snowing really bad.  Like skiing was not challenging enough we have to add strong winds and zero visibility!!

Here is Alyssa as she comes down the hill

Courtney's turn

Now me!!!

Before Stacey went back inside to get warm we grabbed a quick group photo. Thanks snowflake for being in front of my face!!  Oh, and that is Alyssa in the bank robber mask!!

After a few times up and down Alyssa and Courtney decided to go do the medium size mountain.  Due to my knee injury I thought it was a good idea for me to skip the mountain and stay on the bunny hill.  I went up and down a few more times on the bunny hill by myself and then I decided to call it a day.  I went back inside with Stacey and ate an Indian Fried Bread and drank a beer!!  I was a happy girl!!  : )

Alyssa and Courtney came back about an hour later and they were just so excited.  They had skied the mountain twice and really rocked it the 2nd time!!  It was cute I saw them as they came down the mountain and they high fived each other at the end.  Too bad I didn't get a photo but look at them here grinning ear to ear!!  Good job girls!!
We all had a lot of fun skiing and even with all the falling I can't wait to do it again!! Before we could leave the ski area we had to get one more group photo.
After this it was off to the car to head to the sledding area so pregger could have a little fun too......

Wait I can't forget our must have self-taken photo!!!

The Cheesiest!!

***Disclaimer-this activity took place back in February but I suck and never updated my blog so I apologize that a few enteries will be out of order***

Stacey was in charge of getting the food and drinks for the our weekend ski trip.  Apparently while she was shopping she had one of those crazy pregnancy cravings because she bought this for us to eat.
Umm...who the hell is going to eat a HUGE ASS tub of cheese balls????

Oh, my bad!!  : )

Between Alyssa, Stacey, and Courtney they made a pretty good size dent in those cheese balls.  I guess I'm the only person not a fan.  The real question is did Stacey manage to eat the rest of the balls after the ski weekend???

Meet Cubert!!!!

***Disclaimer-this activity took place back in February but I suck and never updated my blog so I apologize that a few enteries will be out of order***

Is this not the cutest little turtle you have ever seen????  This little turtle is the yard art that we all decided to buy from The Pickle Barrel in Globe.
We each got one and gave them a special name related to our trip.  Stacey named her turtle Pickle for the store that we bought him at.  Alyssa named her turtle Miller for the beer she likes to drink.  Courtney named her turtle Blizzard for the storm she skied through during her first ski trip ever!!

Now you may ask why my turtle is named Cubert and why it's spelled like that.  Let me tell you why.  After we got everything unloaded from the car and into the cabin we decided to go eat some lunch.  Alyssa, Stacey and I stopped to eat at this place called The Round Up Cafe.  Sounds fun right??  Yeah, not really!
First we walk in and everyone in the resturant (all 10 people) turn and stare at us.  Yeah, that is not uncomfortable at all!!!  While we stand there being stared at and feeling stupid this guy finally comes over and takes us to one of the many empty tables in this place.  I think he was a wanna be cowboy that somehow ended up working in this lame resturant.

We get our menus and we start looking at what to get.  I'm starving so I'm ready to eat.  Again what seems like forever until our crazy waitress comes over to get us drinks and take our orders.  I decided to order a sandwich but it comes with homestyle fries.  Me being new to this place wanted to confirm what that really meant.  Here is how it went down:

Me:  Can you tell me what the homestyle fries are?

Waitress:  They are thicker then regular french fries

Alyssa:  Oh, so they are like steak fries.

Me: Oh, okay cool I like steak fries

Waitress: NO they are not like steak fries they are smaller

Me:  What do you mean they are smaller?

Waitress:  THEY ARE LIKE CUBES!!  (yes she really did get very loud and used her hand to show me a visual of what a cube looks like just in case I didn't know)

Me/Alyssa:  OH......

Now I gave you reader's digest version of what happened but this conversation seemed as if it took about seven minutes for me to realize they were just the breakfast potatoes they didn't use that morning.  I would have rather had the steak fries.  : (

Right after that conversation happened Stacey says I should name my turtle Cube.  I though Cube was kind of random and didn't flow like a name should so I added to the name and came up with Cubert!  He looks like a Cubert too!!

BTW our turtles are not just yard art.  They serve many purposes such as:

Door stop....this is Miller holding the back door.

A riding toy for little Manny.
The list goes on and on with the fun things our turtles can do.

Show Low Cabin

***Disclaimer-this activity took place back in February but I suck and never updated my blog so I apologize that a few enteries will be out of order***

Stacey's old boss was nice enough to let us stay at his cabin in Show Low for the weekend.  I mean Stacey did have to babysit their kids to earn the free weekend so thank you Stacey!!

Let me give you a tour of our cabin.......

The Living room with our big screen TV.

The Master bedroom that Stacey and Alyssa shared.

Here is the room that Courtney and I shared.  Gotta love the twin beds that I believe had plastic still on the matteress because they sure did make a lot of noise when you moved!!!  BTW I felt like I was seven years old sleeping on that bed!!

Our kitchen with all our food and beverages for the weekend.  Oh and yeah that is beer on the counter aleady.  We were ready for a drink by the time we got to the cabin!!  Oh, BTW when I say "we" I mean Alyssa and I.  Preggers was not drinking!!

Here is the view from the back porch when we arrived.  Look at the left over snow!!!  We were so excited!!  Little did we know that we were about to see WAY more snow then that!!!

Now that we made it to the cabin we could relax and just wait for Courtney to get there.  Let the fun begin......

Yard Art-not the white trash kind!!

***Disclaimer-this activity took place back in February but I suck and never updated my blog so I apologize that a few enteries will be out of order***

On our way up to Show Low for our Cousin Ski weekend we decided to stop in Globe and check out this place called The Pickle Barrel. Alyssa has been to this place before and it sells all kinds of stuff like yard art and antiques. This is the store I found the Manny doll for Manni.
It was a cute little store with TONS of stuff. However, we were most fascinated with all the fun yard art.

I mean wouldn't you just LOVE to have this donkey/pony thing in your backyard?? We all know Stacey would!!
After shopping around we decided that we would all get a little yard art as a souvenir of our trip. You will see what we picked in my next entry.

Alyssa really wanted to get the rooster below but there wasn't enough room in the car and I refused to walk!!

Thanks Pickle Barrel in Globe, AZ for a fun little pit stop on our ski weekend!!!
I will see you when I'm ready for more yard art!!

Manny Math

***Please keep in mind this was all done before we knew Manny was a Manni****

If you read Stacey's blog you saw that I purchased Stacey a doll that looks the way I believe Manny will look when he/she is born. Here is how I came to that conclusion.....
